I am a wife, and mother to a tween and teen in Littleton, CO, where I spent my teenage years. I love to run long miles, read books in the middle of the night when mom-insomnia has me up, and play keys with our church worship band. For the last three years I have been a MOPS Mentor Mom at Deer Creek Church, hanging out with some of the bravest moms I know! With some of those moms I lead a Bible study, and love the richness, raw honesty and depth of friendships our times together bring.
Two years ago, our son fell into a mental health crisis. Since then we have had to learn to navigate the world of psychiatric hospitalization, juvenile delinquency, residential treatment placement, and advocacy. I hope to share our story SO THAT it may offer help and hope to another facing the same battle.
My blog writing is a reflection on parenting a special needs and mental health risk child, juvenile delinquency, spiritual lessons, living with Lupus, book reviews, and random pondering. Grab a cup of coffee or tea and spend a few minutes with me! I would love to hear from you! You can leave a comment or fill out the Contact Form to say hi.
